Unsolved Cases: Jacob Lipp Went Missing in December

This man had a fight with his girlfriend in the Strip District, and then vanished.

Jacob "Jake" Lipp, 27, did what many young adults do on the weekend—head to Pittsburgh's Strip District for the night life. He left his home in North Huntingdon Township. Westmoreland County, about 8:45 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, and ended up with his girlfriend at the Static bar on Smallman Street. The couple left the bar and then had an argument in the early morning hours on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012. The girlfriend drove off, leaving Jake in the parking lot. He walked in the opposite direction, back toward the bar. She circled the block and went back, but Jake was already gone. Missing Bridgeville Man Found Dead

Laurie "Larry" McDonald, the Bridgeville man went missing Thursday night.

The missing Bridgeville man who vanished Thursday night has been found dead in Edgewood, according to authorities. The body of Laurie “Larry” McDonald, 81, was found in a wooded area not far from the Parkway East, Bridgeville police Chief Chad King said. WPXI-TV reported McDonald’s body was found around 4:30 p.m. Sunday. King said McDonald left for a doctor’s appointment in Homewood on Thursday and apparently got lost on his way home. He somehow ended up on an access road, King said, and either crashed his car or got stuck in the mud. McDonald then called his wife around 9 p.m. Thursday to say he saw a gas station and planned to walk through a wooded area to get assistance. Wilkinsburg police found the car around 9:30 p.m. and had it towed…

Rescue Teams Search Canonsburg Lake

A Houston man is missing after swimming Friday night.

Rescue teams are searching Canonsburg Lake for a Houston man who was reported missing after a group of friends swam across the water Friday night. Joseph Schneider, 21, was at a party with friends at a house next door to Table Brick Oven & Bar, which abuts the overpass on the Canonsburg side of the lake, according to Peters Township police Chief Harry Fruecht. Four young men jumped into the water to race across the lake. Fruecht said one man turned around and got out. Schneider also turned around, but was not seen after that. The lake is only 80-100 yards wide at the point where the race took place, Freucht said. Pittsburgh Police Expand Search for Missing Man

Investigators have put together a timeline leading up to Jimmy Slack's disappearance.

Pittsburgh police officers spent six hours Thursday scouring the North Side and nearby riverbanks with cadaver dogs and plan to expand their search for Jimmy Slack using rescue boats Friday. Lt. Daniel Herrmann, an investigator with the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police’s missing person’s unit, said investigators have no new leads in the Bridgeville man’s disappearance, but are still holding out hope that Slack might be found alive. “We’re still looking,” Herrmann told Chartiers Valley Patch. “Our plans are going out with a river rescue boat to examine the banks all the way down to McKees Rocks.
