Daria's incredible spirit and resilience is evident after hearing her sad story," according to the Animal Rescue League. Daria was kept as an outdoor dog somewhere in Beaver County. She managed to escape the home and came back with an eye injury, a possible result of a dogfight or cruel person. Her owner panicked and instead of bringing her to the vet, left Daria at a shelter tied to a water spicket. Help Dori Lose Weight, Find New Home

The Pembroke Welsh Corgi is available for adoption.

Dori is a 6 year old, 43-pound Pembroke Welsh Corgi looking for a new home. Her owners surrendered her to the Animal Rescue League because she was chasing the cats and herding them around the house. They acquired her from relatives who were leaving her outside with no shelter or water. And they were feeding her people food for the past five years—and that's why she weights 43 pounds and not 25. Dori is on a special diet now, and she has already lost 10 pounds. She likes to pretend she's a lapdog, even though she's still a little plump. She likes to play with other dogs, but she needs a no cat household. Dori is great with well-mannered children, though she might try to herd them by nipping at their heels. Dori is very intelligent, and is …

Patch Pets: Meet Maggie!

Maggie is extremely sweet, enjoys her chew toys and seems to like other dogs. Adopt her today at the Animal Rescue League of Pittsburgh.

This pretty 3-year-old girl is Maggie. Her owners surrendered Maggie to the Animal Rescue League of Pittsburgh after two years because she didn't quite feel comfortable with the small children in the home. Nevertheless, this pointer-mix is extremely sweet, enjoys her Kong chew toy very much and seems to like other dogs, too. Maggie was also crate-trained and knows sit, stay, down and lay. However, she's not fond of felines, so a cat-free home would be ideal. She’s also is a fan of going outside when it rains. Based on her behavior in her previous home, Maggie should live in an adult only home or a home with older children. It does take her time to warm up to strangers, but loves people once she feels safe. We think she'll love curling up …
