High School Cheer Clinic Slated

Space is limited—so register now!

The Peters Township High School cheerleaders will host their Advanced Cheer Clinic from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 26 at the Peters Township Middle School gymnasium. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. Students in grades 7 and above will learn skills needed for high school cheerleading. Cheers, chants, stunts and dances will all be performed by current PTHS cheerleaders. "Participate in a mock tryout and receive individual feedback from high school cheer coaching staff on your strengths and weaknesses," organizers said. Tryout information for 2013 will be provided at the clinic, and a sample judging sheet will be handed out, as well.  Remember: Space is limited, and those who pre-register by Friday will pay a fee of just $25. PTHS Cheerleaders to Hold Pancake Breakfast

Here's how you can get involved!

The Peters Township High School Cheerleaders will hold a pancake breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Nov. 17 at O'Brien Hall, St. Benedict the Abbot Church in McMurray.  Those interseted in supporting the cheerleaders can come and enjoy all-you-can-eat pancakes, including a topping bar. Sausage will also be served, along with a variety of juices and hot coffee. Activities include a 50/50 raffle and a Chinese auction with Penguins tickets, gift card trees and a variety of themed baskets. Other events include pancake-decorating contests between teachers and sport coaches and "Flip-a-Flapjack" contest between members of the band and girls sports teams. Members of the boys fall sports teams will compete in a pancake-eating contest. …

Flipping Good Turnout at Peters Cheerleading Fundraiser

Community members packed in to benefit the Peters Township High School cheerleading squad for its third annual pancake breakfast Saturday.

What does it take to get a mountain of pancakes around here? Six dollars and a trip to O’Brien Hall at St. Benedict the Abbot Church, where Peters Township High School cheerleaders held an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast fundraiser from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday. The event also included a 50-50 raffle and a Chinese auction featuring gift baskets donated by Peters families and local businesses, as well as contests where contestants flipped, tossed, decorated and ate their way to victory. After expenses, the breakfast pulled in roughly $7,800, which is nearly $2,000 more than last year, according to cheerleading head coach Chelsea Stockhausen.
