Local Cooking Club to Launch 'Taste the World' Series

The Peters Township Public Library is looking for 'guest chefs' to volunteer to prepare a dish from their heritage or family for patrons to sample.

Since discovering that its library patrons’ palates are anxious for new cuisines to sample and prepare, the Peters Township Public Library Cooking Club plans to introduce a new “Taste the World” series in 2013. “The club’s most successful programs have been those featuring food preparations and samplings from countries like China, Ireland, France and Germany,” said library Director Pier Lee. “This series will feature recipes from a different country each month with demonstrations and tastings. These culinary trips around the world will be complimented by other library resources like our Mango Languages program, as well as travel books and DVDs for our patrons to learn about each country a little more extensively if they like.” Before …

Peters Library Preps for Potluck Dinner

PTPL's GO Green and Cooking clubs are seeking dishes derived from locally grown gardens to take part in the fete.

It's here! It's here! The third annual Potluck Dinner at Peters Township Public Library is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 3 at 6:30 p.m.  Hosted by PTPL's GO Green and Cooking clubs, this savory supper is open to all Peters Township residents.  In an effort to celebrate the season's bounty and locally grown goods, attendees are asked to bring a potluck dish made with samples from home gardens to share. The library asks you share your recipe, too—unless it's kept sacred in some sort of vault of course.
