That's why Canonsburg General Hospital and the Outpatient Care Center in Peters Township welcome you a heart-health event Friday. Go Red! will feature free blood pressure readings, free foot screenings, healthy cooking demonstrations by Giant Eagle and The Market District, performances and tips by exercise professionals, nutrition counseling and more. Wear red Friday in recognition of the fight against heart disease—and check out who the special guest will be for a heart-health event late next month.
When you're getting dressed tomorrow, remember the folks at Canonsburg General Hospital and the Outpatient Care Center in Peters Township want you to 'go red' in recognition of the fight against heart disease. But that's only the beginning. A 'Go Red!' event is slated from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Feb. 28 at both Canonsburg General Hospital and the Outpatient Care Center in Peters Township. The heart-health awareness event will include information, screenings, demonstrations and door prizes. Symphony of Food, Peters Township Middle School's first-ever Hot Chocolate Cafe and the high school's annual cheer clinic are just a few events happening this weekend.
1. Symphony of Food: A Chef’s Showcase Where/When: Bella Sera, 6 p.m. on Friday Why Go?: The best chefs of Pittsburgh join the 5th Annual Symphony of Food sponsored by WOMEN of Southwestern PA, Inc. A Parade of Chefs will be held at Bella Sera in Canonsburg. Four fabulous 2011 Pittsburgh Magazines’ Best Restaurant Chefs will each prepare one of their signature courses. The chefs include: Kevin Sousa, Salt of the Earth; Brian Pekarcik, Spoon; Chet Garland, Toast Kitchen & Wine Bar, BRIX and Rumfish; and Dominic Branduzzi, Piccolo Forno. Chef John Gruner of Giant Eagle’s Market District will provide the luscious appetizers both charcuterie and passed.
