Patch: What have been the most popular gift requests this year? Santa: Electronics. iPods, iPhone 5s, mini iPads, everything. Patch: How have gift requests changed over the years? Santa: All the electronics have been the biggest change. Even the small ones are asking for iPhones. Patch: What has been your most unusual and memorable gift requests? Santa: One wanted me to bring the parents back together. Another one wanted his family to have a very happy holiday. The best was two or three years ago, a four or five year old wanted a phone. It took a lot of time for me to figure out why he wanted a phone at such a young age. He finally told me he wanted a phone for when he had to call his friends because his mother was always on the phone! …

Norman Centre is holding a Light Up Night celebration on Thursday, Nov. 15.
Celebrate Light Up Night a night early this year! Norman Centre in Bethel Park is holding its first annual Light Up Night celebration from 5 to 8 tonight, Nov. 15. There will be holiday music, refreshments and a special appearance by Santa Claus in the Pier 1 Imports parking lot. Attendees are asked to bring an unwrapped gift to contribute to a Children's Hospital toy drive. The 52nd Annual Light Up Night in downtown Pittsburgh is Friday, Nov. 16.

Customers can take part in the 'Cutest Santa Photo Contest.'
Holiday magic returns to South Hills Village as the Santa Photo Experience opens to greet bright-eyed visitors with their wish lists today. Children can be photographed with Santa beginning 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, in the Lower Level North Court. Click here for the specific dates and times after Friday. “There is always a great deal of entertainment and fun at Simon malls during the holiday season but the Santa Photo Experience is something generations of families count on every year,” said Jennifer Carroll, South Hills Village Director of Marketing and Business Development. Everybody’s favorite red-clad fellow stopped by Peters Township Public Library on Sunday night, an event which capped off a day of festive fun.
Santa Claus took some time out of his busy schedule to stop by Peters this weekend. The big guy visited the Municipal Complex on Sunday night, for some talk time and photos with the kids. But the party started long before Santa got into town. The Peters Township Community Recreation Center hosted its annual Frosty’s Funhouse on Sunday afternoon, giving kids the chance to come out and make festive holiday crafts with their parents. Good times started at the Municipal Complex at 6 p.m., when carolers from Little Gym of Pittsburgh, St. Ben’s Preschool and Peace Lutheran Fusion Youth Group sang a list of favorite Christmas tunes. A few of the children who caroled were given the honor of flicking the switch to light the complex’s Christmas tree…
