Peters Township Students Prepare for Keystone Exams

Keystone Exams are coming up for some Peters Township students. Find out if or when your child has to take the tests.

Keystone Exams are coming up for some Peters Township students. The testing days run from Jan. 9 to 11 with some students taking one test per day depending on their grade level. Juniors will be taking three tests during those days from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Most sophomores and freshmen will be taking the Algebra 1 and Biology Keystone Exams on Wednesday and Thursday from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. If they need to take one or both of the exams, they will be listed on their Powerschool Schedule. The school district is asking parents to “double check” their powerschool account to see which exams they are scheduled to take. The Algebra 1 exam will be given on Jan. 9 and the Biology exam will be given on Jan. 10. There will be delayed starts at 10:30 a.m…

Back to School: Important Upcoming Dates

Today, McMurray Elementary alumni will attend orientation at Peters Township Middle School. See what else is happening before the big, first day.

The first day of school is less than two weeks away. Peters Township School District parents and students are preparing for a new year, new classes, new teachers and, for some, new schools. Here are important dates to note before the big day:  Wednesday, Aug. 15: Orientation at Peters Township Middle School for incoming seventh-graders from McMurray Elementary (students only), 9-10 a.m.  Thursday, Aug. 16: New Student Orientation at Bower Hill Elementary, 10 a.m.  Friday, Aug. 17: New Student Orientation at McMurray, 10-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22: Walk-Through Night at Bower Hill, 5-7:30 p.m.  Thursday, Aug. 23: New Student Orientation at Pleasant Valley Elementary, 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23: Kindergarten Orientation at PV, 6:30 p.m. …

I agree with you Roger. Our family personally makes the effort to enroll our kids in some summer reading and math courses. I do not think many folks here do that. I only know of a few dozen families that do that on a regular basis. Our schools have reading lists too, but it is up to the parents!
