Weather Causes Early Closings, Athletic Postponements

A snow removal emergency is also in effect in Peters Township.

The Peters Township Public Library and Community Recreation Center are closing at 4 p.m. Peters Township School District sporting events are also being affected by the snowfall Friday, Jan. 25.  Here's the latest update from the district spokesperson: Boys JV/Varsity Basketball Girls JV/Varsity Basketball Boys Freshmen Basketball Indoor Track The township has declared a snow removal emergency and schools were dismissed 45 minutes early. Peters Declares Snow Removal Emergency

On-street parkers can be fined.

Peters issued a "snow removal emergency" on Friday afternoon.  Due to current and predicted snow falls a Snow Removal Emergency is being declared for Peters Township. All on street parking is prohibited so that snow removal operations may occur. This declaration of emergency shall be for a period 24 hours. Violators are subject to fines. In addition the Community Recreation Center will close at 4 p.m. today due to the weather and the Peters Township schools are being dismissed 45 minutes early.
