Two Area Businesses Hosting Fundraiser for Transplant Recipient

Both Fired Up Pottery and Swirlie Whirlie in Peters will donate 20 percent of proceeds from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Satuday.

She underwent the transplant in January. "In 2007, after the birth of her third child, (Whalen) learned she had developed kidney disease. Although she has no family history of this illness, she has battled diabetes since she was 9. Doctors said a kidney/pancreas transplant was essential to her survival," her …

I'm not sure about the others, but our first visit to Swirlie Whirlie last week was horrible. The good news is that I didn't put much in my cup, because it was a struggle to eat the stuff. Terrible! We will never return, no matter how many toppings, or colored pictures on the wall.   more ›
