The check presentation was celebrated on Wednesday.
Pittsburgh Steelers Hall of Famer and Pittsburgh Power owner Lynn Swann presented Peters Township High School with a $5,000 check Wednesday for winning the TribLive Lip Dub Contest. Earning more than 30,000 votes online, the school won the competition by a landslide. The PTHS media department and video club entered the school spirit contest. The students were challenged to create a lib-dub video using one of a list of songs selected by TribLive—they chose "Firework," by Katy Perry. The video also had to be filmed in one continuous shot. The hard work and continued voting paid off! Peters Township High School won the Tribune Review 2012 High School Lip Dub Contest, according to information Peters Patch received from a high school teacher. The grand prize is $5,000 and 100 Lip Dub T-Shirts. The lip dub shows off the students' school spirit and is to the tune of Katy Perry's "Firework." Students lip synch through the high school to the tune of 'Firework.'
It's a video you just have to see! The Peters Township High School video club uploaded a lip-dub video to YouTube on Friday that already has dozens of views. From back flips off the wall to volleyballs flying back and forth in the hallway, this action-packed video is sure to entertain!
