Peters Township is protesting Waste Management's decision to delay Saturday, Dec. 29's trash pickup until Saturday, Jan. 5. Waste Management was to pickup residents with a normal Friday pickup on Saturday, but reported that the trash was not picked up because of inclement weather. "We are protesting this and examining our options. We hope to work out a better solution with Waste Management on this. Peters Township is working with the South Hills Council of Government to resolve this matter," stated township Manager Michael Silvestri. Residents who were scheduled to have their garbage picked up on Thursday or Friday of last week will have their garbage picked up today, Monday, Dec. 31. It is 7 pm on January 3. Our regular pickup day is Wednesday. Last week it was scheduled for Thursday. Not picked up last week or today. Now 16 days worth of garbage. What's up? Weather not an excuse now. more ›
