Santa Claus is Down on the Farm

Trax Farms, that is!

Want to take the kids to see Santa, but can't make the holiday events in town this weekend? Is the mall just not your style? How about seeing Santa at nearby Trax Farms? Because the jolly old elf will be there on Saturdays and Sundays in December, from Saturday to Dec. 16. Trax Farms will be hosting a breakfast or lunch with Santa and his elves. Breakfast start at 9:30 a.m. and lunch at 12:30 p.m. Reservations, which cost $8, can be made at the customer service desk or over the phone at 412-835-3246. Seating is limited and going fast, so organizers ask those interested to make their reservations in advance to guarantee a seat. Trax Outdoor Flea Market This Weekend

Vendors are invited to join Trax Farms for Saturday's events, which will also be held on Aug. 25.

Trax Farms announced it will hold Outdoor Summer Flea Markets again this year—on Saturday, Aug. 11 and Aug. 25.  They will be held in the grassy area at the end of the main parking lot—where patrons are asked to park in their own 10-foot by 20-foot space and sell right from their vehicle! “We open early to beat the heat,” organizers said in a release. The cost is $10 a day (collected at 9 a.m.) for vendors, and there is no prebooking. All spaces are available on a first-come-first-served basis. Those interested are reminded to bring their own tables and chairs, change and change box, and clean up the area before they leave. “It’s that simple! Come and shop early! This weekend, U Rock is hosting its instrument rental program, Trax Farms is having a flower show and a recently relocated church is hosting a pasta fundraiser—among other events.

Trax Farms will have its first wine festival in 147 years on Saturday.

On Saturday, from noon to 6 p.m., historic, 147-year-old Trax Farms will have its first wine festival.
