Josh Taylor was born in Pittsburgh and raised in its Hill District. He is a proud alumnus of Schenley High School, and he was a member of the last Schenley baseball team to win a City League championship.

Taylor received his journalism degree from Duquesne University, where he witnessed the Dukes' football team win the Division I-AA Mid-Major national title from the sidelines in 2003. He also followed the exemplary college basketball careers of players like Beth Friday, Candace Futrell, Kieron Achara and Aaron Jackson while at Duquesne.

Taylor was court-side to witness the Duquesne men's basketball team end its 14-season losing streak in 2008.

He has had the privilege of covering the Steelers, Penguins and Pirates, as well as college and high-school sports in Pittsburgh at various times.

Taylor has covered such events as Major League Baseball's opening day, the Stanley Cup playoffs and Steelers' training camp.

Some of the most memorable moments of his career are winning an international journalism award as a college student, watching the last Penguins' regular season game at Mellon Arena as a member of the media, getting lost in the bowels of Heinz Field during WPIAL football championship games and interviewing legendary athletes like Sidney Crosby and Steelers Hall of Famer "Mean" Joe Greene.

Ever since he witnessed his first sporting event at Three Rivers Stadium as a kid, it has been Taylor's dream to be around sports for a living. With every game that he covers and every story that he writes, he gets to live that dream.

"Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you've imagined." - Henry David Thoreau
