@Cindy - Although I live in Peters Township, you DEFINITELY have my family's support as well. Stay Strong, and I hope to see you as the next elected supervisor in Cecil Township! :-)

The Planning Staff and Committee is all that would have been needed to develop this report - They have done an outstanding job. Our township wasted a ton of money on a consultant that in my opinion has given us nothing. A lot of these same ideas were mentioned and incorporated into the Comprehensive Land Use Plan in 1999/2000, and the sad part is that not much was implemented from that plan. It is 14 years later, and hopefully, we as a community are going to start listening to the residents' ideas. The planning staff (in particular Grant) as well as the committee members are working very hard on this project - Thank You for your time and dedication.

@PA Mom - Thank You for keeping the discussion going...The technology 'failures' are ridiculous. How you can have failures week in and week out and you are running a $50 Million + 'business' is beyond my comprehension. I went to school in PT and graduated in 1995. Now, my children are going to school here, and as much as I love PT, my love for the school district is fading, and rapidly at that - especially since all of my administratoes and teachers are a thing of the 'past'. :-/

If staff cuts/renegotiations are being talked about, are administration salaries on the discussion board too? I have personally sent two emails to the business manager, and still have not even received an acknowledgement thereof. The days of impeccable follow-up from Mr. Solomon are over. :-/

@Anthony - You can see the drawings at the PT Planning Department and/or call 724.942.5005 to make an appointment to see the project drawings in greater detail. I hope that helps.

I tend to agree with you, regarding the topic “dying off.” In fact, researching the topic proved to be difficult for this exact reason. There is just not a lot of information out there. Reasoning behind this is exactly what you mentioned, many are still waiting, or in the process of, government intervention, and this is being held off due to the lenders' serious missteps, according to John Schoen of NBC news. Since the lenders’ gaffes have been exposed, many lenders worked to improve their performance and have since streamlined their loan modification processes. Bank of America, for one, claims that they are in a better position now to help out struggling homeowners in a timelier manner. Of course, this does not mean the problem is solved; however exposing the lenders' mistakes is a step in the right direction.

The national foreclosure rates have leveled off in the last year and continue to drop overall throughout most of the US. In fact, rates fell to an 11-month low in April 2013. However, the rates also continue to surge in some states, such as FL, NV, and IL, which have the highest foreclosure rates. Realty Trac predicts foreclosures to continue to drop over the next two years, as the economy and market continue to recover.
Not all federal programs proved to be a failure. In fact, the general consensus is this: it benefits those who take advantage of it. The National Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling program (NFMC) researched and found that people who sought help from the government programs received a positive impact. The government program that tends to have the most success is foreclosure mediation. The reason is because the program provides a mediator between the homeowners and lenders, which opens up the lines of communication which otherwise were not present. You mentioned the toxic assets being held by the lenders, and that tends to affect this foreclosure situation tremendously. For example, the government’s heavily hyped Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP) has badly under-performed expectations largely because the decision to modify a loan still rests entirely with the lender.

Thanks Joseph. I have been attending township meetings since I was 16 years old. Four of the last five generations of my family have called PT home. I just want to give back to a community that has giving my family so much. Planning for the future generations of Peters Township is a must.
