Peters School Board Hires New Principal, Teachers

Here's who was recently hired by the Peters Township School District's Board of Education.

There will be all kinds of new faces at the Peters Township School District when classes resume for the 2013-14 school year.

Peters Township School Directors recently hired the following people:

  • Julie Franczyk as Bower Hill Elementary School assistant principal, at a salary of $75,000. She replaces Christopher Shute.
  • Paige Conley as intervention specialist at McMurray Elementary School. This is a newly created position.
  • Kathleen Rys as a sixth-grade teacher at McMurray Elementary School. She replaces Elizabeth Wardzinski.
  • Rebecca Ritter as a gifted teacher at Peters Township Middle School. This is a newly created position.
  • Stephanie Van Balen as a business, computer, information, technology teacher at the Peters Township Middle School. She replaces Jessica McHugh.
  • Stacey Wahl as a learning support teacher at both Pleasant Valley and Bower Hill elementary schools. This is a newly created position.
  • Sarah Corsinelli as a social studies teacher at Peters Township High School. She replaces Larry Ansell.
  • Richard Lang as a music/strings teacher at the Peters Township Middle School and McMurray Elementary School. He replaces Marlina DeFelice.
The board also hired the following as long-term substitute teachers:
  • Heather McNamara as a first-semester learning-support teacher at the middle school. She will teach in the place of Pamela Colella.
  • Lauren Johnson as first-semester learning-support teacher at McMurray Elementary School. She will teach in the place of Andrea Lamatrice.
  • Brynn Ebbitt as a special education teacher at McMurray Elementary for the 2013-14 school year. She will teach in the place of Casey Doran.
  • Anna Wellek as a first-semester fourth-grade teacher at McMurray Elementary. She will teach in the place of Kimberly Callaghan.
  • Angela Berger as a first-semester mathematics teacher at the high school. She will teach in the place of J. Christopher Whalen.
