Pittsburgh Woman Arrested for Theft from Peters Township Business

Peters Township police have charged a Pittsburgh woman with three counts of theft by failing to make the required deposits—offenses that stem from incidents occurring this past February.

Police said Opeka Auto Repair contacted the department to report that while three customers paid for their deductibles in cash—that the payments were never recorded as received in the company's computer system.

Police said detectives tracked the incidents to then-employee Sheri Cogley, 39, who was arrested Friday.

She is accused of stealing $1,290 from the company, according to police.

Cogley was arraigned before district Judge James Ellis, who remanded her to the Washington County Jail after she was unable to post a $5,000 bond.

She was released on bond Monday, online court records show.

Cogley is scheduled to appear before Ellis for a preliminary hearing at 2 p.m. July 2.
